To Neil Kinnon, About Neil Kinnon and What He Is Reading.....

A post dedicated to the Dictator of MVRCS, Neil Kinnon himself. Many would say that we have a vendetta or ax to grind with Kinnon but we don’t, we are just tired of his use of the school as his own personal employment agency and his insistence on controlling all aspects of it. While we are not removing fault for the wrong doings that have (and continue to) occurred from others on the Board and Administration, we do know that not much happens without Neil Kinnon orchestrating it all from behind his curtain (much like the Wizard in the Wizard of Oz). We’re sure that at times the Administration would love nothing more than to terminate certain employees but are prevented from doing so as a result of their ‘kinnection’ or ‘konnection’ to Neil Kinnon. In attempting to create a post title, we found ourselves facing difficult decisions as many were appropriate.
Kinnon and Napoleon ~ two of the same?

Napoleon Bonaparte (we liken Neil Kinnon to Napoleon and the ‘little man’ syndrome that has long been associated with Napoleon)”
“Human greed, passion, vanity are the motive forces by which kings rule.”

Are we being ruled by a king who is driven by greed, passion, and vanity?

“A man must be a good deal of a fool if he thinks there is nothing superior to his own ideas but miracles, and the mind of God!”

We’re sorry to keep coming back to this but his quote, The quickest way to be not true to the charter is to not have continuity. Since superintendents come and go, where do you get continuity? You’re able to get that through a long-serving board that has full understanding of the charter. This is what I have told the DOE every year they’ve come in and questioned it’’ continues to come to mind as we read various quotes that various dictators and ego-maniacs have used to justify their actions. At least if other Trustees were appointed the school would have a chance of being run in accordance with the laws AND with the best interest of ALL children held first and foremost.

Carly Simon:
“You’re so vain”….you probably think this school is just about you…..

Author Unknown:
"Don't go away mad, just go away.'
(And don't worry, we'll still name that fancy new athletic center after you, or at the very least, the pool cause we know that is what is important to you ~ not staying focused on the charter's mission that makes NO mention of athletics taking precedence over adequate learning facilities).

Idiom on deception:
“Fool me once, shame on you. Fool me twice, shame on me.”

AND FINALLY, from George Orwell’s, 1984 –
            “Big Brother is watching you….”
For those of you not familiar with the book 1984, it would appear that Neil Kinnon is attempting to create his own totalitarian state:
Big Brother is a fictional character in George Orwell's novel Nineteen Eighty-Four. He is the enigmatic dictator of Oceania, a totalitarian state taken to its utmost logical consequence - where the ruling elite ('the Party') wield total power for its own sake over the inhabitants.
In the society that Orwell describes, everyone is under complete surveillance by the authorities, mainly by telescreens. The people are constantly reminded of this by the phrase "Big Brother is watching you", which is the core "truth" of the propaganda system in this state. Since the publication of Nineteen Eighty-Four, the term "Big Brother" has entered the lexicon as a synonym for abuse of government power, particularly in respect to civil liberties.”

We bring this comparison into our post for a number of reasons. While we see the similarity between the two as scary with the ruling elite using its power for the sake of them selves, the bigger implication is even more disturbing.

It has come to our attention (and we have verified this) that while many parents are aware that the area surrounding the school is wired with surveillance cameras, so too are the buildings. While we may be able to appreciate the value in this to some degree, what we take issue with is that these cameras have a lip reading device on them. Apparently, while eavesdropping or wiretaps require permission from either the individual or a court, lip reading software is legal and does NOT require individuals to be notified of its presence.

Since the financial collapse in 2008, local, state and the federal governments have struggled financially to meet the needs of the citizens.  In many cases, this has meant cut backs in numerous social and education programs including in some cases direct funding to schools.  To adjust for these shortfalls, schools have had to eliminate after school programs, libraries, music and art programs.  MVRCS has not escaped the financial pressures.  If you recall, the parents have had to step up and subsidize the transportation program because MVRCS claimed “they couldn’t afford it.”  Well how is it exactly that a school claiming that it can’t afford to transport its students can afford a “LIP READING SOFTWARE”????  For those that may be confused as to what this is, allow me to explain.  MVRCS has remote cameras installed in the hallways of the building that secretly monitor the conversations that take place in the hallways by and between students, teachers, and yes you guessed it, PARENTS.  Did you know that the conversation you had with your child’s teacher in the hallway was being monitored?  You do now.  Anyone heard of Carly FiorinaKinnon is aware that he may not be breaking the federal and state wire tapping laws but one could argue that conversations pertaining to children should be confidential and many parents may (and do) take issue with Big Brother (and his merry band of thieves) eavesdropping. Should we also mention the implications this has on the teachers, many of whom do not KNOW that many of their conversations are being translated into interesting reading material for a member of the merry band of thieves. Yes staff members, you can keep no secrets from Big Brother (and we’ve heard they are reading your emails these days too). Just curious, was ANY of this in your contract or the School Compact that parents signed….?

Yes, Big Brother IS WATCHING (AND READING EVERYTHING YOU SAY!).

  1. Imagine being a teacher in that school and having a personal discussion with a friend who is also a co-worker and finding out later that the entire conversation was 'overheard' by one of the 'kinnected' individuals at the school? How awful for those teachers!

  2. Shameful and immoral but as per the school not against the law.

  3. I never made the connection before but isn't it sad how much the school sounds like the book 1984's Oceania with the Big Brother watching and the elite doing everything for their benefit.

I wonder how many teachers have had their taped and transcribed conversations used against them by the school and if the school tells them how they found out. No wonder none of the teachers trust each other, they probably think their coworker/friend opened their mouths but it was really the eyes in the ceilings. Sounds like a nice place to work, no wonder teachers don't stay around long.

  4. For those doubting the existence of this system, we suggest you ask Neil at the next Open Meeting. Also, if you'd like to see the equipment, go the the Annex building, 2nd floor. At the top of the stairs near the receptionist is a room that is used for small group work. The room has a closet and in the closet (that is supposed to be locked but isn't always) is some of the equipment. Check it out....oh that's right, you can't cause parents aren't permitted in the building.

  5. Hmmm...big difference between a system that allows camera's around the facility for security and safety of our children and then the "Lip Reading System" you claim. Get YOUR FACTS as once again you show you ignorance!

  6. If the camera's were only being used for security purposes, that would be one thing but they are not. That is the part of the problem.

  8. This could be the stupidest post I've ever read. Lip reading software? Do you often have a conversation standing side by side with someone while staring up at a camera? It may be time to go back on the meds. It is the silly season but your paranoia is in overdrive.
