The Efforts to Squash Us Continue.....

Today our site was inundated with bogus, immature, and generally nasty comments. In the past, when someone did such a thing (such as the individual who was posting scripture) we would block them for a day or two and then remove the block. Today they chose to take advantage of a proxy (a service that blocks an individuals ip address in an effort to hide their identity). Funny enough their actions have resulted in them  having 'outed' themselves as school officials. To clarify, during any and all of our communications with the school we have used a specifc proxy service to block our identity. By using the same proxy service that we have been using with our communications with the school AND by their making reference to using the same proxy service that we used (and we can see which one they are using, and it is the same), they have inadvertently identified themselves as school officials, specifically the administration. This post is not to cause them humiliation but rather to demonstrate their lack of professionalism, ethics, integrity, and the identity of many of the negative comments being posted. It is sad that the school would rather spend their time trying to destroy a vehicle for communication rather than attempt to address the issues and implement the necessary changes within our school.
We will continue to publish all posts (whether we agree with them or not as we feel it is important for us all to consider all views and opinions) that are appropriate, relevant, and on topic. We apologize for this change but the posters were acting in a very immature and harassing manner and attempting to shut this blog down. Regardless of whether you agree with our message or methods or not, our right to be heard should not be limited or prevented by any one person or group. We apologize for the inconvenience.

  1. Sounds like something they'd do. Who do you think it is specifically? Gately? Greg? Neil?

  2. Censorship!!! Just another excuse to censor what you don't like.

  3. This comes as no surprise the admin has been behind the negative and immature comments--like we didn't know that? Good job confirming that! If censorhip eliminates the rude and disgusting posts, I am all for it. There is no need for that here. If the school cannot defend itself in a professional manner then they need to go. I have not seen any defense of the many issues brought up here. With all the problems and issues over the years, the only constant has been the board and selected admin. It would be reasonable to conclude it is them that are the problem if all the other components have changed including teachers, students and parents. Time for them to step down and be replaced with qualified people who can run this as a school and not a real estate development company. Have you seen how much money will be budgeted to repair and renovate the Jacob St. buildings? Or all the other properties? Spending $85K on a telephone system is outrageous! More on video cameras? Kinnon wants to put up a free one on the Citizens Bank! For what purpose? Step down Councilor Kinnon!

  4. Translation from Unoffcial: If we don't like your content, and we don't think it is "on topic" based upon our narrowminded view of things, then it won't be posted! So much for freedom of speech, regardless of what they believe is "immature, or hostile"...funny how they can attack anyone they want, name specific names, but anytime somebody shoots back with something they don't like it gets removed...and now completely blocked! The US Constitution would be so proud of all of you...instead, you take socialist china's approach to censor everything...Hey, wake up, if you want to truly have a blog, then good bad or ugly, allow ALL posts without your personal bias and let the readers decide!

  5. It doesn't surprise me that the school would do this. Nothing is below them.

    The comments being posted had nothing to do with anything except demonstrating your immaturity and identity. We are not censoring anything that is of value nor just because it opposes our view; unlike the Board, we welcome others views and opinions because we know that we don't know everything nor is our opinion or view always the right or only one. Can the Board say the same?
    Funny you have an issue with controlling what we say here yet the Board controls what is or is not addressed at meetings. Take up the issue with the Board and then us...they've been guilty of it for so much longer than we have.

  7. Blah blah blah @ Unofficial; same lame comments as ever! Hey 12:40pm...you speak out of what you sit on; before you comment on the $85k for the phone system, do you even know what it replaced and why it was needed??? From what we understand (and again, not with "them"), the existing school sites were end of life and maitenance costs were substantial. Further, it took all the school locations and now has them on one phone system that ties all campus locations together! Your lack of "digging into the facts" is just another example of how this blog is made up of a bunch of haters who speak before they understand!

  8. Oh boy. As a former parent, I can only laugh. This is not shocking that the school would do this. This is mild compared to some of the other sneaky, mean spirited, and cruel things that they have done. Sorry kids, but this is normal behavior for them. I for one know first hand how vicious they can be.

  9. Why are there so many locations to begin with? Because of the illogical methods used by the admin. Too many missed opportunities to have a cohesive campus. How many office locations do you need for a school with only 1300 kids?

  10. Do your kids go to this school? Why are you writing all this negative stff about the school? My kids are getting a great education. If you don't like the way the school handles things, THEN LEAVE!!!!

  11. We do have kids that go to this school and chose this school for our kids. Just because a few of them have learning disabilities that the school refuses to provide for, we should leave? If things were done legally (special ed issues aside), it would be one thing for us to leave but since things are being done illegally, all our leaving would do is allow it to continue. We are not looking to write negative stuff about the school, we are trying to save our school. Have you read the issues on here; the relatives getting re-admitted, the dept of ed issuing directives to the board that they are not following, the lack of a quality and appropriate education for our special ed students. Obviously you haven't had the pleasure of having this impact your child.

  12. I am really surprised that there hasn't been more attention paid to all of the issues going on at the school. As a parent with kids doing well at the school I am really upset that more isn't being done to rectify the problems that have been brought up. Hopefully there will bee more investigation or hopefully the school is working to fix the glaring issues that have been brought up. I feel terrible that your children were mistreated due to their disabilities. Not all of the parents want you to have to leave. Some are just scared that your efforts will lead to the school getting in to trouble. Best of luck-nobody fights for a child like a parent.

  13. I've been following this blog and the banter between the two sides. It would appear that even though I don't agree with how these parents are dealing with these issues, that their issues are warranted, with some truth behind them. My child was in one the classes with Finn's family when they were pulled and then again when they came back in. At the very least, I know that 'accusation' to be true. I also know of at least 2 families who 'claim' to have been selected due to a connection (one said that their childs name was not called but then suddenly appeared on the list that was displayed...?). I can also say that I've attended a few board sessions over the years but stopped because it didn't seem as if the parents presence mattered.
    I can understand why parents may not be interested in hearing this stuff but to beat up on the parents the way some of you are, is unjust and not fair. It really does seem as if they are trying to do the right thing and not to destroy the school as they are being accused of doing. Keep it up guys, just be careful not to throw the baby out with the bath water.

  14. Why do none of the poll questions offer answers against your theories? Are you afraid of seeing just how many people disagree with your poppycock?

    ReplyDelete
  15. This poll question seems to disagree with our own beliefs and knowledge....
    With the upcoming lottery approaching, I believe the process at MVRCS:
    ~is done with integrity and honesty;
    ~appears to be on the up and up;
    ~has been the cause of many rumors and griping among the community but I am unaware of any specifics;
    ~is questionable as many of the staff, Administration, friends, & family members have been selected;
    ~definitely rigged as that is how my child got in

    Did you happen to read them before you posted?

  16. I really hope that our school officials are not wasting our children or our time by trolling around a blog(s). Spend the time and clear this non-sense up and move on. The only ones to get hurt here are our our kids. Truth and honesty have no fear in the face of questions.

    Don't waste your time asking the school questions because they won't answer them. They don't have to. Truth and honesty are not a part of how the school operates.
